The child’s thougts

Day 1: Here I am! I exist in the  form of a single cell.  I want to thank you. Thank you, Mom, that you want to be with me during these nine months that I will spend  under your  heart. Please, persever in your prayer. It will make it easier for me to grow and you will become my spiritual parent. Forever!

Day 2: I may be tiny but I am growing incredibly fast. I am now two  identical cells, which are starting to divide. Between the 30th and 50th hour after fertilization, I look like a microscopic globe made of sixteen  cells.

Day 3: Do you believe that I have a soul from the very beginning? I can connect with you every day. When you pray, we become spiritual friends.

Day 4: Biologists call me an embryo.  I don’t like this name, how does it sound? Embryo. So strange! That’s true that I am small, but I was created as a human person from the beginning and I am one now! When I go out to see this world, I will speak about that. Thank you for being my spiritual parent.

Day 5: My mom doesn’t know about me yet. She doesn’t even feel that I exist. My weight is less than one gram and I am as tiny as the grain of a mustard. And I am moving to my mom’s womb just like a small grain. I will find my first home there.

Day 6: Thank you for praying. You will be my spiritual companion every day. You will see me developing and getting bigger and bigger. You will feel happy when you think of me in a few years when I will be three or five years old!

Day 7: I made it to my mom’s uterus. Wow! This is my new home where I am going to grow. And a new home means even more changes. I wonder what will happen next?

Day 8: Please tell someone about me. Tell someone that I have many friends in the world who live inside their moms just like me. Some of them will not survive because their parents do not believe that they can love them and assure their well-being. If only they could understand their love is enough, it would change everything.

Day 9: Scientists have defined that I am no longer an ovum but a fetus. I feel relief. This word sounds much better. It means “the initial stage” and I really am in the initial stage as a human being.

Day 10: My friend, can you imagine? I am now between 0.36 millimeters to almost one millimeter in  length ! Even though I am tiny I am growing fast.

Day 11: My cells are filled with a liquid. They are dividing incredibly fast. Oh my! I now consist of almost 100 cells. “Being a small human” – it sounds so wonderful.  I am daydreaming again.

Day 12:  How interesting! I am embedding in the uterus and dividing into two main parts. The first part is attached to the uterine wall and it will become a placenta in the future. Did you know that the placenta is an organ supplied with blood, which will soon give me the possibility to feed and take the best from my mom?

Day 13:  I am the hero of a great process! Several layers of my cells are now being transformed into the so-called “embryonic leaves.” These are my own tiny tissues. My mom’s mucous membrane is growing and it covers me from the inside as a warm quilt. My new home is nice, isn’t it? You had a similar one too. Do you remember?

Day 14:  I am alive! I do exist! Aren’t you the first person who knows about me? I feel love and I thank you for that.

Day 15: Tomorrow is a big day! I will surprise you!

Day 16: My heart started beating today! It’s small, much smaller than yours. You will be able to hear my heartbeat at six weeks, when mom has an ultrasound .

Day 17: My shapes are forming. My body’s curves are forming. Fascinating composition, right?

Day 18: Did you know that I’m approximately 1.25 millimeters in length? My oval body elongates. I like myself more every day.

Day 19: You can notice the initial shape of my future head. It can be distinguished from the lower part of my body. I am so grateful for your care and the time you spend with me every day. Thank you for taking care of our spiritual friendship.

Day 20:  I would like to invite you to a dinner today! I feed from the gastric pouch and the nutrients available on the uterine walls. What do you like to eat?

Day 21: I am growing very quickly,  but I still weigh less than one gram.  Imagine, I resemble an apple pip (seed).

Day 22: I can swim! I’m moving around freely. The amniotic fluid protects me from injuries.  It works exactly like the car’s dampers (shock absorbers).

Day 23: Here we are together during one of the most important moments of my growth.  This is time when my organs start to form. My hand and leg buds appear.

Day 24:  You can clearly see the contours of my head and body. I have my inner ears, eyes and tongue.

Day 25: My body weight increased 10,000 times. Did you know that I have a spinal cord now? The junctions between my brain and spinal cord are now formed, and my heart is as big as a poppy seed.

Day 26: My friend, did you know that I am now two to four millimeters in length? It’s hard to believe that such a tiny and thin organism as mine has a brain. Look, my body might resemble a small tail.

Day 27: The blood starts to circulate in my body. I have my own circulatory system! Did you know that my mom’s blood will never mix with mine?

Day 28: My parents do not know my sex yet, but I do. This information was encrypted in my genetic code from the very beginning. I will grow to be a courageous boy.

Day 29: I have two brain hemispheres! Did you know that this week is crucial for my development? My inner organs (though still tiny) are now forming into their final shapes.

Day 30: I have a small oral cavity, my jaws start to form along with my nose and sense of smell. Those who see me as a small “tail” can now notice that my shape is changing and becoming more human-like in appearance. I am a girl and I want to look great. (I am a boy)

Day 31:  Can you see my primordial eyes and ears? These small dots on both sides of my head form retina – my future eyes. I can’t wait until I see my mom and dad.

Day 32: Did you know that in my tiny limbs there are now cartilages? My legs and arms are getting longer. Soon, I will be able to communicate with my mom by waving hands and legs!

Day 33: My body range now resembles a bean. I am four to five millimeters in length.

Day 34: Please pray for me today so I can grow strong – not only my body, but also my soul. You make my soul breathe happily.  By the way, today my body starts to develop the respiratory system.  I already have a pleura.

Day 35: Oh, I now have a liver, pancreas and a stomach.  Please, pray for my mom.  I would like her to keep away from everything that could hurt me.

Day 36: My face is forming; my jaw and  nose remind me of yours.  I have a tongue! You can see the tip of my nose.  Look! I am not lifting up my head at all; it still rests on my chest.

Day 37: My jaw still is forming, as well as the dental plaque. Woohoo! When I grow up, I am going to smile all the time.

Day 38: That’s a formation of the optic nerve! For eight days my eyes and also my inner ear structures are forming.  These will be responsible for the senses of hearing and balance.  Just imagine, I will be able to admire this wonderful world and walk over the balance beam at the playground.

Day 39: Imagine a raspberry. And now think of me. My body is exactly as big as a raspberry now. My weight is approximately one gram and I am 14 to 20 millimeters in length!

Day 40: When my mom walks, her amniotic waters rock me nicely.  I can move around and I like it more and more.

Day 41: My spinal cord is forming. My arms and legs are getting longer.  Soon, I will be able to  reach out to my parents, feel their closeness and hug them.

Day 42: Hey, what’s up?  I am constantly changing! Can’t catch up! My kidneys are forming. When I grow up approximately 1,500 liters of blood will be filtered through them every day. Can you imagine that there are almost one million tiny filters to clean my blood?

Day 43: My brain grew big enough so I can start using it. I wonder what talents I will develop?

Day 44: My eyes and eyelids are forming. I already have retinae and eye lenses, and my optic nerves are already functioning. Can you imagine?

Day 45: Here are my thyroid and the first muscles. Oh, and my arms now bend because  I have elbows.  Fingers are forming on my hands and toes on my feet. Look how fast I am growing. Do you think I am pretty? Thank you for staying with me.

Day 46: You have a reason to be happy! I am growing up faster. My weight is three grams and I am two to three centimeters tall. Celebrate this fact today by telling the first person you meet about me, please!

Day 47: What  do you think? Which  fruit is comparable to my body size? Let me share with you that I am the size of a cherry.

Day 48: Hooray! Amazing! My parents can see my moves today by doing sonography!

Day 49: There is a small tube in my body now allowing me to pee.

Day 50: Look! My head straightens up. Can you see the earlobes and the shape of my nose?

Day 51: Here they are, my palate and the first 10 teeth germs.

Day 52:  Thanks to you, I am so big already, the size of  a walnut shell.  Thank you for allowing me to grow to five grams. I am 31 to 43 millimeters tall.

Day 53: Did you know that my eyes have  eyelids? I am dreaming that one day I will be able to admire beautiful landscapes with my parents.

Day 54: Look at my hands and feet. My thumb and the index finger are growing apart.

Day 55: It’s extraordinary! My heart splits into right and left parts and beats above 110-150 times per minute. My parents can hear it during the Doppler echocardiography.

Day 56: Heeeeey, are you there? Are you happy?

Day 57: I am looking more and more like a human! Even those who are in doubt will find proofs that I am no longer an embryo. I am a fetus – this is what  biologists call me now. But if you ask me, I am a human since the very beginning. My face is getting well-rounded, can you see it?

Day 58: Taste and smell organs begin to form. The eyelids cover my eyes completely.  Let me brag a bit. I can now suck and swallow. I can’t wait until I eat my first dessert!

Day 59:  Hey there! Are you with me? Time to wake up! I can yawn now, too!

Day 60:  I am big enough so that you can compare my body to a plum. I am four to six centimeters  tall and my weight is eight grams. One can distinguish my genitals. The testicles started producing testosterone.

Day 61: Tadaaa! You are taking part in the crucial moment of my development.  My liver, bowels, kidneys, brain and lungs are now completely formed and start functioning. They will be growing bigger in coming weeks and months. Please convince a person you meet today that I am a human being since I was conceived.

Day 62: My heart beats from 110 to 160 times per minute.  Please, pray today for my mom. Her emotions influence the rate of my heartbeat. The way she feels impacts my calmness.

Day 63: Mom feels better today, so I am calm as well. Will you have some time to spiritually accompany me today? Thank you for your presence in my life.

Day 64: I become calmer and spontaneous. I like turning my head, wiggling my arms and legs.  I explore the world around me. It is a pity that my mom cannot reveal how great I feel inside her belly.

Day 65: I am fully shaped. My inner organs, especially my brain are still developing. My bones are getting harder. My pituitary gland started producing hormones. It’s fascinating! Thank you for your persistence in prayer and the sacrifices you make for me.

Day 66: Under my milk teeth there are the germs of my permanent teeth.  Hurray! I also have the hair roots and nails. My fingers and toes get separated.

Day 67: I gained some weight! My weight is 8 to 14 grams.  My body length is now around six centimeters. I am as big as a lime. I learned how to smile, crinkle my brow and suck my thumb.

Day 68: And now my blood is no longer mixed with my mom’s blood. My liver is so big that it starts producing blood cells. My pancreas also has glands. When I grow up, I will prepare a meal for my parents!

Day 69: My vocal cords are forming. Sing me a lullaby, please!

Day 70: Did you know that my digestive system is able to absorb glucose?  The umbilical cord nourishes me and carries away toxic substances of metabolism.  Thank you, my friend, for the gift of your prayer. I am honored by having a soul mate in you.

Day 71: Let me surprise you!  90% of my body is composed of water.

Day 72:  I can hear my mom’s voice. I even heard some music today. My mommy listened to a violin concert. You might be surprised that my ears will be fully formed in ten weeks. I can hear because I feel the vibrations approaching my skin.

Day 73: I also have my first bones! My pelvis and ribs are forming. I could not survive outside my mom’s body because my lungs are not mature yet. Thanks for cheering me every day.

Day 74: My nostrils are clearing. My eyes move towards the nose and the ears move to the sides of my head. I can turn my head around! Oh, how great it will be to run around the meadow and smell flowers! Do you like how grass smells in spring?

Day 75: My bowels are too long to fit into my stomach so they escape into the umbilical cord. My liver starts producing gall and the pancreas produces insulin.

Day 76: The weight of my tiny organism is 13 to 20 grams. I am 65 to 78 centimeters in length. My body is almost as big as a peach.

Day 77:  Please, pray for my daddy today. He needs attention, care and your prayer, too.

Day 78: Adventure ahead! My development progresses quickly. The placenta nourishes me, produces hormones and supplies oxygen and other necessary substances to me. Blood cells are produced by the bone marrow.

Day 79: I move gracefully. My moves are smoother now!

Day 80: Now I know how I will pee!

Day 81: I am preparing to live outside the uterus! I practice breathing. My weight is almost 25 grams and I am the size of  a lemon.

Day 82:  My body length now is 80 to 90 centimeters  and my eyes will now stay in the same place.

Day 83: The placenta (this  is my current home) is finally formed by now. What is your favorite place to rest?

Day 84: Do you realize that you strengthen my parents’ feeling of conscious parenthood every time you pray? They are and want to be good parents. Please, help them with your prayer today.

Day 85: Dance with me! “Head and shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes…” My fingers bend towards my palm. I can move and bend my wrists, hands, legs and knees; my joints start functioning.

Day 86: A special pigment appeared in my skin – melanin. You can easily observe my ribs, blood vessels and the  retinae in my eyes. My skin is  covered with a very thin hair that helps regulate  my body temperature.

Day 87: Thank you for praying. I grew up to 104 to 114 centimeters. You can compare my size with an onion.

Day 88:  I am able to open my mouth widely and close it. I know how to suck my  thumb.  I am such a talented baby! What did you learn recently?

Day 89: Tiny bones in my inner ear are hardening but I can feel the sound waves thanks to the amniotic fluid where I live and move.

Day 90:  Voilà! My bowels are operational. They started absorbing and producing the first digestive enzymes.

Day 91:  Is there someone around you who does not know about the power of our spiritual friendship and  prayer?  Please, tell them about me.

Day 92: Look how strong I am! I can hold my head up. Imagine how I move my eyes and crinkle my eyebrows.

Day 93: If someone gives you an apple this week, think that it is as big as I am. Please tell that person about me.

Day 94: My legs are now longer than my arms.  My bones have formed, they are getting harder and absorb calcium.

Day 96: It is amazing, my weight is 80 grams now.  Did you know that my tiny body is 108 to 116 millimeters  long?

Day 97: My bowels return back to my stomach. Now they fit in! And my thyroid has just started producing  hormones.

Day 100: The amniotic fluids get into my lungs and are pushed out.

Day 112: Though my eyes are closed and covered by the eyelids, my retina is sensitive to light. Thank you, my dear Friend, for accompanying me in spiritual unity!

Day 113: Let me invite you to SPA today! My skin glands produce a fat substance of a white color. It is a vernix that protects my skin from soaking in the amniotic fluid.

Day 114: A difficult word: “myelin”! Do you know what that is? It’s a fat-based substance that insulates nerve fibers. The nerve impulses in my body can be transmitted much faster because of that. That’s why I am fit, quick and my moves are smooth.

Day 115: I am so hungry! Will you eat lunch with me today? My digestive system starts to produce enzymes. They help in getting rid of the amniotic fluid and filtering it with my kidneys before it gets back to the amniotic sack.  The appendix forms in my bowels.

Day 116: Did you know that the net of blood vessels is visible under my skin?

Day 117: The amnion (in which I swim dynamically) contains approximately 250 cmof amniotic fluid. Would you like to swim with me?

Day 195: Time for changes! I will tell you tomorrow. I am not talkative today because I have a small problem. Please think of me when you pray today.

Day 196: It was so uncomfortable in here yesterday.  Somehow, I decided to change my position to the head-down one. It is not a movie, but I feel like a stuntman who must adapt to changing conditions.

Day 197: I am not growing as fast as I used to before. Finally! Uff…

Day 198: Wise people say that eye pigmentation requires sunlight. Because of that eyes can change their color even a year after the birth. I’d like to know and see what color my eyes will be!

Day 199: My weight is exactly that of a pumpkin – 1.6 kilograms.  I have grown  one more centimeter,   from my head to the end of my torso, since the previous week.

Day 200: My eyes are open in daylight and closed when I sleep. Please think of me when you’re  getting ready to sleep.

Day 201: My brain develops quickly. My legs will  be the last to mature. I am so happy that I will be taking my first steps in a year.

Day 202: My eye pupils widen when I see the red light penetrating into the uterus from the outside.

Day 203: You are responsible for my life now.  It is great to be taken care of by someone who cheers me on so sincerely.

Day 204: I mastered a new skill: I can turn my head to both sides. This is fantastic!

Day 205: Please, do not wake me up.  I sleep almost the whole day.Day 206: My nails and hair are growing. Do you believe that your prayer makes me stronger?

Day 208: I practice opening and closing my eyes. I sleep almost all the time.

Day 209: I am working on my lung development. I want to learn how to breathe. Premature babies have problems with breathing. I have enough time, so I practice.

Day 210: Thank you for the gift of unconditional love for me, a tiny, helpless child who can’t pay you back.

Day 211: I am inviting you for my ultrasound scan today. A doctor is measuring the diameter of my head. Noise stimulation results in me being more active; this is clearly visible on the ultrasound.

Day 212: Fat accumulates in my body. I am a little donut now, right?

Day 213:  My weight is already two kilograms! My body length is now 30 centimeteres.  I am as big as a cabbage.

Day 214: It is getting tight in here. I cannot dance anymore so I just move slowly  from one side to another.

Day 215: I am entertained not only by the sounds but also by my mom’s body position, the frequency of her meals and the delicious treats she prepares for me. Did you know that I do not follow any diet? Just like mommy! I like tasting various meals.

Day 216|: Thank you for a prayer! Mommy is relaxing now.  She is resting and learning how to observe my movements.  Nice, eh?Day 217: My head has grown by 9.5 millimeters this week. It means that my brain is still forming. Maybe I will take part in a mathematics olympiad or become a famous inventor.

Day 218: My organism absorbs a lot of proteins needed for my bones to grow. I’ll walk around the world when I grow up. I can’t wait!

Day 219: Imagine that nails cover my  fingertips almost entirely; the nails on my toes have not covered them completely.

Day 220: My skin is still folded, but it is changing into a pink color. The nails are tiny, but sharp. I have a free beauty parlor run by mom!

Day 221: Thanks to you and the spiritual care you provide, I am growing. Imagine that I am as heavy as a cauliflower right now. My weight is 2.3 kilograms and I am 32 centimeters long.

Day 222: My immune system is developing so I can fight any infection. Resistance to diseases is my next target and goal to achieve!

Day 223: I have no space to swim in the amniotic fluid, so my mom can feel my movements better.

Day 224: It is so good to have a friend like you!  I am loved for free. That is the greatest blessing in this world for me.

Day 225: I swallow a lot of amniotic fluid. I pee a lot, so there is some meconium gathering in my bowels.

Day 226:  My central nervous system is already mature. And where is your command center?

Day 227:  My lungs are almost fully formed.

Day 228: You can’t imagine how complicated it is to move in here. So I shake my arms and legs a lot. I would like to hold your hand. In the meantime: spiritual high five!

Day 233: I don’t turn around much anymore.  I wish I could, but I can’t.

Day 234: I have less space available so I remind my mom about my presence in a more definitive way. Mommy says I have a strong character.

Day 236: The final countdown! Are you with me?

Day 237: Whoah, my weight is 2.75 kilograms! My parents are happy that I am so big now.

Day 238: Could you please encourage one more person to start praying for a child, just like you do?

Day 239: Look how big I have grown! I am now 45 centimeters long – from head to toes.

Day 240: Knock, knock! Is anyone here? I may decide to get out sometime soon, but it is so nice here.

Day 241: Imagine that a placenta weighs 500 grams and is 20 centimeters in diameter and is three  centimeters thick. A cozy, but tiny apartment!

Day 242: My weight is three kilograms now! I am wondering how will I get out of here?

Day 243: Ooo-uch, I am moving down the pelvis. I was not prepared for such surprises.

Day 248: Did you know that my head and stomach have a similar perimeter now?

Day 249: The placenta completes its job, which  was to nourish me. It functions less efficiently now.

Day 251: Let my heartbeat be a small gift for you. Listen!

Day 252: My downy hair is disappearing.  It’s a sign that in a very short time I will relocate.

Day 253: I remind everyone about my existence by waving my hands and legs and nodding my head.

Day 254: I keep my hands crossed on my chest. I am lying head down as if I were going to try bungee jumping.

Day 255: My face is smooth and full. My cheeks are chubby. I look just like a newborn should.

Day 256: Please take me with you for a walk today. I have no possibility to rest, so please get relaxed for me.

Day 257: Pray for those who protect life.

Day 258: I can’t wait any longer. Do you know when my big day is coming? Thank you for your selfless love for me – tiny, helpless, who can’t pay you back.

Day 259: I am such a big boy (a beautiful girl)! My weight is 3.25 kilograms and I am 50 centimeters in length.

Day 260: The vernix around my body starts to fall off. It is another sign that the big day is close: the day when I will finally see you!

Day 261: I have 300 bones. This is many more than an adult has.

Day 262: It is cozy here, even though pretty tight. I would like to get out. I don’t know how, but I will find a way.

Day 263: Do you know that the umbilical cord is as long as my body? It is 50 centimeters now. Thank you for your perseverance  and presence.

Day 264: Do you know that I am proud of you? You are so strong, I’m impressed!  It’s like you were running a marathon with me. You make it a lot easier for me and I am glad you still are praying.

Day 265: Am I right that you like me? You know, it will be hard to part, but this is what life looks like:  reaching out to people without looking back.  I will always be your spiritual friend.

Day 266: I like being here inside my mom. I have everything I need: your support, my parents’ voices and a tight, cozy apartment. I decided to stay here a bit longer.

Day 267: Did you know that if I wanted to I could get out of mommy’s belly even today?

Day 268: Mom visited a hospital with me today. She wants to see me. Woohoo! I heard what the doctor said to my mom. I will tell you tomorrow.

Day 269: The doctor said we might need to wait for my arrival one more week. He said it is very likely that I will choose the right moment to appear on my own. It’s great that they trust me!

Day 270: Today I am not doing anything! It is so hard to move.  Let me have a nap.

Day 271: Remember, the world needs more heroes like you. Please be assured that many more people can be inspired by your attitude.

Day 272: Can you do something for me, please? Tell a random person, whom you meet, about me. I’d like them to listen to my heartbeat. Will you help?

Day 273: You are a brave person! You have strength! Encourage a friend to take a turn and pray for one of my friends.

Day 274: Mom is taking me for a walk. Are you going with us? Please pray for me today when we are in the fresh air.

Day 275: I am a human being since I was conceived! Hooray! Thank you, my friend for this fascinating journey together! When I was small and weak, you were with me.

Day 276: Booooring! Nothing is going on. Possibly it was not the best idea to stay inside a bit longer. Let’s see!

Day 277: Ouch, something is shaking here. Mom is exercising before giving  birth; she is walking up and down the stairs. I did not expect a quake here in my apartment!

Day 278:  Oh, it’s so uncomfortable here. It’s time to move out. Let’s go! But how?

Day 279: It’s happening! Weeeeeeeee! I am equipped with over 70 reflexes and reactions. And I am going out!

Day 280: Dear Friend, I was just born and with my first intense, loud cry, I took my first breath! I feel safe in my parents’ hugs. Mission accomplished! Good job! You have supported me with prayer and seen me grow. Thank you for our friendship and your perseverance. Similar adventures are ahead of me! Adventures in macro version!  I will always remember you, my Spiritual Parent.
