I exist in the form of a single cell. I want to thank you. Thank you, Mom, that you want to be with me during these nine months that I will spend under your heart. Please, persever in your prayer. It will make it easier for me to grow and you will become my spiritual parent. Forever!

Day 2: I may be tiny but I am growing incredibly fast. I am now two identical cells, which are starting to divide. Between the 30th and 50th hour after fertilization, I look like a microscopic globe made of sixteen cells.

Day 3: Do you believe that I have a soul from the very beginning? I can connect with you every day. When you pray, we become spiritual friends.

Day 4: Biologists call me an embryo. I don’t like this name, how does it sound? Embryo. So strange! That’s true that I am small, but I was created as a human person from the beginning and I am one now! When I go out to see this world, I will speak about that. Thank you for being my spiritual parent.

Day 5: My mom doesn’t know about me yet. She doesn’t even feel that I exist. My weight is less than one gram and I am as tiny as the grain of a mustard. And I am moving to my mom’s womb just like a small grain. I will find my first home there.

Day 6: Thank you for praying. You will be my spiritual companion every day. You will see me developing and getting bigger and bigger. You will feel happy when you think of me in a few years when I will be three or five years old!

Day 7: I made it to my mom’s uterus. Wow! This is my new home where I am going to grow. And a new home means even more changes. I wonder what will happen next?

Day 8: Please tell someone about me. Tell someone that I have many friends in the world who live inside their moms just like me. Some of them will not survive because their parents do not believe that they can love them and assure their well-being. If only they could understand their love is enough, it would change everything.

Day 9: Scientists have defined that I am no longer an ovum but a fetus. I feel relief. This word sounds much better. It means “the initial stage” and I really am in the initial stage as a human being.

Day 10: My friend, can you imagine? I am now between 0.36 millimeters to almost one millimeter in length ! Even though I am tiny I am growing fast.

Day 11: My cells are filled with a liquid. They are dividing incredibly fast. Oh my! I now consist of almost 100 cells. “Being a small human” – it sounds so wonderful. I am daydreaming again.

Day 12: How interesting! I am embedding in the uterus and dividing into two main parts. The first part is attached to the uterine wall and it will become a placenta in the future. Did you know that the placenta is an organ supplied with blood, which will soon give me the possibility to feed and take the best from my mom?

Day 13: I am the hero of a great process! Several layers of my cells are now being transformed into the so-called “embryonic leaves.” These are my own tiny tissues. My mom’s mucous membrane is growing and it covers me from the inside as a warm quilt. My new home is nice, isn’t it? You had a similar one too. Do you remember?

Day 14: I am alive! I do exist! Aren’t you the first person who knows about me? I feel love and I thank you for that.

Day 15: Tomorrow is a big day! I will surprise you!

Day 16: My heart started beating today! It’s small, much smaller than yours. You will be able to hear my heartbeat at six weeks, when mom has an ultrasound .

Day 17: My shapes are forming. My body’s curves are forming. Fascinating composition, right?

Day 18: Did you know that I’m approximately 1.25 millimeters in length? My oval body elongates. I like myself more every day.

Day 19: You can notice the initial shape of my future head. It can be distinguished from the lower part of my body. I am so grateful for your care and the time you spend with me every day. Thank you for taking care of our spiritual friendship.

Day 20: I would like to invite you to a dinner today! I feed from the gastric pouch and the nutrients available on the uterine walls. What do you like to eat?

Day 21: I am growing very quickly, but I still weigh less than one gram. Imagine, I resemble an apple pip (seed).

Day 22: I can swim! I’m moving around freely. The amniotic fluid protects me from injuries. It works exactly like the car’s dampers (shock absorbers).

Day 23: Here we are together during one of the most important moments of my growth. This is time when my organs start to form. My hand and leg buds appear.

Day 24: You can clearly see the contours of my head and body. I have my inner ears, eyes and tongue.

Day 25: My body weight increased 10,000 times. Did you know that I have a spinal cord now? The junctions between my brain and spinal cord are now formed, and my heart is as big as a poppy seed.

Day 26: My friend, did you know that I am now two to four millimeters in length? It’s hard to believe that such a tiny and thin organism as mine has a brain. Look, my body might resemble a small tail.

Day 27: The blood starts to circulate in my body. I have my own circulatory system! Did you know that my mom’s blood will never mix with mine?

Day 28: My parents do not know my sex yet, but I do. This information was encrypted in my genetic code from the very beginning. I will grow to be a courageous boy.

Day 29: I have two brain hemispheres! Did you know that this week is crucial for my development? My inner organs (though still tiny) are now forming into their final shapes.

Day 30: I have a small oral cavity, my jaws start to form along with my nose and sense of smell. Those who see me as a small “tail” can now notice that my shape is changing and becoming more human-like in appearance. I am a girl and I want to look great. (I am a boy)

Day 31: Can you see my primordial eyes and ears? These small dots on both sides of my head form retina – my future eyes. I can’t wait until I see my mom and dad.

Day 32: Did you know that in my tiny limbs there are now cartilages? My legs and arms are getting longer. Soon, I will be able to communicate with my mom by waving hands and legs!

Day 33: My body range now resembles a bean. I am four to five millimeters in length.

Day 34: Please pray for me today so I can grow strong – not only my body, but also my soul. You make my soul breathe happily. By the way, today my body starts to develop the respiratory system. I already have a pleura.

Day 35: Oh, I now have a liver, pancreas and a stomach. Please, pray for my mom. I would like her to keep away from everything that could hurt me.

Day 36: My face is forming; my jaw and nose remind me of yours. I have a tongue! You can see the tip of my nose. Look! I am not lifting up my head at all; it still rests on my chest.

Day 37: My jaw still is forming, as well as the dental plaque. Woohoo! When I grow up, I am going to smile all the time.

Day 38: That’s a formation of the optic nerve! For eight days my eyes and also my inner ear structures are forming. These will be responsible for the senses of hearing and balance. Just imagine, I will be able to admire this wonderful world and walk over the balance beam at the playground.

Day 39: Imagine a raspberry. And now think of me. My body is exactly as big as a raspberry now. My weight is approximately one gram and I am 14 to 20 millimeters in length!

Day 40: When my mom walks, her amniotic waters rock me nicely. I can move around and I like it more and more.

Day 41: My spinal cord is forming. My arms and legs are getting longer. Soon, I will be able to reach out to my parents, feel their closeness and hug them.

Day 42: Hey, what’s up? I am constantly changing! Can’t catch up! My kidneys are forming. When I grow up approximately 1,500 liters of blood will be filtered through them every day. Can you imagine that there are almost one million tiny filters to clean my blood?

Day 43: My brain grew big enough so I can start using it. I wonder what talents I will develop?

Day 44: My eyes and eyelids are forming. I already have retinae and eye lenses, and my optic nerves are already functioning. Can you imagine?

Day 45: Here are my thyroid and the first muscles. Oh, and my arms now bend because I have elbows. Fingers are forming on my hands and toes on my feet. Look how fast I am growing. Do you think I am pretty? Thank you for staying with me.

Day 46: You have a reason to be happy! I am growing up faster. My weight is three grams and I am two to three centimeters tall. Celebrate this fact today by telling the first person you meet about me, please!

Day 47: What do you think? Which fruit is comparable to my body size? Let me share with you that I am the size of a cherry.

Day 48: Hooray! Amazing! My parents can see my moves today by doing sonography!

Day 49: There is a small tube in my body now allowing me to pee.

Day 50: Look! My thumb and the index finger are growing apart.

Day 55: It’s extraordinary! My heart splits into right and left parts and beats above 110-150 times per minute. My parents can hear it during the Doppler echocardiography.

Day 56: Heeeeey, are you there? Are you happy?

Day 57: I am looking more and more like a human! Even those who are in doubt will find proofs that I am no longer an embryo. I am a fetus – this is what biologists call me now. But if you ask me, I am a human since the very beginning. My face is getting well-rounded, can you see it?

Day 58: Taste and smell organs begin to form. The eyelids cover my eyes completely. Let me brag a bit. I can now suck and swallow. I can’t wait until I eat my first dessert!

Day 59: Hey there! Are you with me? Time to wake up! I can yawn now, too!

Day 60: I am big enough so that you can compare my body to a plum. I am four to six centimeters tall and my weight is eight grams. I even heard some music today. My mommy listened to a violin concert. You might be surprised that my ears will be fully formed in ten weeks. I can hear because I feel the vibrations approaching my skin.

Day 73: I also have my first bones! My pelvis and ribs are forming. I could not survive outside my mom’s body because my lungs are not mature yet. Thanks for cheering me every day.

Day 74: My nostrils are clearing. My eyes move towards the nose and the ears move to the sides of my head. I can turn my head around! Oh, how great it will be to run around the meadow and smell flowers! Do you like how grass smells in spring?

Day 75: My bowels are too long to fit into my stomach so they escape into the umbilical cord. Thank you, my dear Friend, for accompanying me in spiritual unity!

Day 113: Let me invite you to SPA today! My skin glands produce a fat substance of a white color. It is a vernix that protects my skin from soaking in the amniotic fluid.

Day 114: A difficult word: “myelin”! Do you know what that is? It’s a fat-based substance that insulates nerve fibers. The nerve impulses in my body can be transmitted much faster because of that. That’s why I am fit, quick and my moves are smooth.

Day 115: I am so hungry! Will you eat lunch with me today? My digestive system starts to produce enzymes.
